What is Blood Pressure?

Blood pressure is expressed in two numbers, a top and a bottom number. It is measuring the amount of pressure in your arteries. An average blood pressure might read 120 over 80. This is a common guideline used by many doctors. There are many health factors that must be taken into consideration when determining a normal blood pressure for each person.

The top number measures the amount of pressure on your blood vessel walls when your heart is pumping blood out of the heart. The lowering number is measuring the amount of pressure on your blood vessels when the heart is filling back up with blood.

You may have been told you have high blood pressure if either of both numbers are higher than the average.

Tomorrow, I will share with you ways you can lower your blood pressure.
