5 Reasons to Stay Away from Soda and Energy drinks

1. Energy drinks can boost heart rate and blood pressure.It can increase anxiety, dehydrate the body, and cause insomnia.

2. Some energy drinks can contain up to 280mg. of caffeine. This almost triples the amount of caffeine in one cup of coffee.

3. An average can of soda has 35-38mg. of caffeine and up to 13 teaspoons of sugar.

4. According to some household cleaning web sites, sodas can be used as a toilet cleaner and rust and grease remover.

5. Some energy drinks have a very small splash of vitamins added, but not enough to gain any value.

Dr. Schone, Can you please tell me what you suggest for our kids to drink other then the Healthy Water. How do you feel about Juice and other drinks like Crystal Light?

It is best to replenish with water. Mixing half water and half juice would also be of choice. Crystal light has artificial sweetners that are not healthy. Stay away from drinks that contain large amounts of sugar, articials sweetnes and a lot of sodium.
