Pumpkins - Pumpkins - Pumpkins

The pumpkin capital of the world is located in Central Illinois. It is here in the heart of the midwest that our great farmers are producing 90% of all the pumpkin crops. It is also in Illinois where the largest processing plant is located. They process about 85% of all the canned pumpkin on the grocery shelves today.

Gives thanks to our great farmers of Illinois for adding some extra sweetness to our Thanksgiving dinners.

Red Flags for Big Bags

Carrying heavy backpacks, purses, briefcases, or shopping bags, on one shoulder can cause you to walk off balance. This creates your torso muscles to contract and makes one side of your spine work harder. Overtime this can create a weakening to your back and cause unnecessary back problems.

Carry no more than 25% of your body weight in your backpack. Switch shoulders or hands frequently. Keep the carrying pieces close to the body for less strain on the muscles.

Fat Wallets

A Fat Wallet is a nice problem. But if you have it in your back pocket and your sitting on it, this will cause your hips to be uneven. Thus torqing your spinal and pelvic muscles. Your spine will compensate for this stress and cause pain or tightness to your back.

I have been putting my thin wallet in my front pocket for over 20 yrs. You will also find that your back pockets will last longer.

Happiness

Happiness is not a matter of good fortune or worldly possessions. It's a mental attitude. It comes from appreciating what we have, instead of being miserable about what we don't have. It's so simple, yet so hard for the human mind to comprehend. Go out and make it a great day. It's your choice.

Your digestive tract is thirty feet long.

Your body produces one billion red blood cells every day.

21 Day Detox - Raving Results!

I want to share a raving result. Yesterday patient R.B. came into my office to discuss her recent results of her blood test. She had just completed her 21 day nutrition detox with us. She lost 11 pounds and was feeling much better. We compared her blood test from August,(which was before the detox) to her blood test done recently in November. Her Cholesterol dropped from 199 to 133, Triglycerides dropped from 247 to 80, Alkaline Phosphatase dropped from 104 to 50. These were very surprising results to R.B.

These results continue to show how effective this whole food detox program can be. Call us to find out how you might benefit from this program. Your health may depend on it.

Our mission is to help our patients improve the quality of their HEALTH so that they can improve the quality of their LIFE.

What Should I Do For My Lowback Pain?

Deciding what to do for a lowback problem can be a difficult decision. Many start out by seeing their family doctor. Chiropractors specialize in taking care of back problems everyday. Take your lowback to a Chiropractor first. Let the Chiropractor examine you to determine what type of treatment you can best benefit from. They may be able to help you and if not they can refer to the proper place for treatment.

Starting out with drugs or surgery can cause unneeded side effects. Getting to the root of the problem and correcting a misalignment in the spine that can cause abnormal spinal joint function, disc derangement, and a pinched nerve is the best treatment in most cases.

It is important to find out if your lowback pain is coming from a muscle injury, disc injury, nerve injury, or spinal joint injury. a Chiropractic examination can help determine the real problem.

Your Nervous System Controls Everything

A properly functioning nervous system is a key to good health. Not your blood pressure(controlled by your nervous system) or your pulse (controlled by your nervous system). As a Chiropractor I have had the pleasure of restoring improved nerve function to my wellness partners. Have you ever had your spine checked to see if your nervous system is firing with all cylinders?

Easy Stress Reducers

If you're running around all day trying to fulfill a seemingly endless list of responsibilities, you could be on the verge of a stress-induced breakdown. Before that happens, take five minutes out of your busy schedule for one of these quick de-stressors.

1. Get moving - Any form of daily exercise can be extremely beneficial. Endorphins are triggered to be released into your body during exercise. These hormones are mood lifting and can add a great feeling and energy to your body.

2. Get some sun - The sun can provide a good amount of needed vitamin D. It also enhances serotonin which is a chemical that stabilizes your moods.

3.Laugh a little - Many studies show that laughing can lower the levels of cortisol which is a stress hormone.
